Cargo & Transport Nets
From warehouse racking protection to HGV containment, shipping containers to freight operations — bespoke cargo netting solutions designed, fabricated and finished in our Fleetwood factory.
Warehouse Racking Protection Netting
Protecting Your Workforce and Stock from Falling Loads
Pallet racking systems are the backbone of warehouse and distribution operations — but when stock is dislodged, whether by forklift impact, vibration, or poor pallet condition, the consequences can be severe. Installing safety netting to prevent items from falling from racks is a recognised protective measure under HSE and SEMA guidance, sitting alongside column guards, rack protectors, and floor markings as part of a comprehensive warehouse safety strategy.
We supply custom-fabricated netting panels for the front and back faces of pallet racking runs, mezzanine floors, pick faces, and loading bay edges. Each net is built to the exact bay dimensions of your racking system — not cut from a standard roll — ensuring a flush fit with no gaps that could allow product to fall through or around the edges.
Our racking protection netting is typically specified in knotless/knotted PP, HDPE, Nylon or Dyneema — all offering high visibility through the mesh so stock can be identified without removing the net, and sufficient strength to contain palletised goods in the event of racking damage or product shift. Fitting can be provided or clip attachment systems for rapid removal during stock replenishment.
Typical applications:
- Rear-face racking protection in back-to-back aisle configurations
- Front-face pick face protection in high-bay narrow-aisle warehouses
- Mezzanine floor edge protection
- Loading bay fall protection where goods are staged at height
- Vertical separation netting between warehouse zones
Transportation & Intermodal Netting
Built to Secure, Contain & Transport with Confidence
The movement of goods through intermodal supply chains — from factory floor to container, container to vessel, vessel to rail, rail to final mile — requires containment solutions that remain effective through multiple handling stages, sea conditions, and transport vibrations. Boris Nets supplies cargo netting for use inside and around shipping containers and intermodal units, fabricated to the internal dimensions of standard and specialist containers and suited to the demands of mixed, palletised, and irregular freight.
Our container netting is used for:
Container Lining & Void Fill Nets — Preventing load shift within partially filled containers during sea passage and road transport legs. Fitted across the interior of the container at load face height to prevent forward movement during braking or pitch.
Container Door Safety Nets — Retaining loose goods at the door end of a container, preventing unsecured items from falling onto operatives when doors are opened at destination. A straightforward but often overlooked welfare measure at goods-in and port operations.
Vehicle & HGV Cargo Containment Nets
Load Containment for Road Freight
Each year the DVSA issues over 2,000 prohibitions to vehicles where the load presents a road safety risk, and an insecure load constitutes a breach under Section 40A of the Road Traffic Act 1988 — an offence that can result in licence endorsement, penalty points, and operator compliance risk score (OCRS) consequences.
DVSA guidance makes clear that sheets and nets serve as a containment layer — keeping loose items within the load boundary and preventing them from being blown or bounced from the vehicle — used alongside appropriate primary lashing and securing equipment. For open vehicles, tippers, curtainsiders, and vehicles carrying mixed or irregular loads, a well-fitted cargo net is a practical and cost-effective part of a compliant load management system.
We supply netting for:
Flatbed & Open Trailer Nets — Purpose-built for flatbed, step-frame, and skeletal trailer configurations carrying loose, irregular, or mixed loads. Fabricated to trailer dimensions with perimeter rope and hook attachment at standard lashing points.
Tipper Body Nets — Lightweight but strong containment nets for aggregate, construction waste, demolition materials, and loose bulk. Fitted with bungee or clip systems for fast deployment by a single operator at the point of loading.
Curtainsider Internal Containment — DVSA guidance specifically notes that netting and strapping systems that attach to the trailer roof and can be pulled into place over the load from ground level allow goods to be secured without the operator needing to access the load bed — important for double-deck trailers where working at height is a significant risk. We supply exactly this type of system to measure.
Van & LCV Load Nets — For transit vans, panel vans, and last-mile vehicles carrying mixed parcels, tools, or loose equipment. Partition nets prevent load shift into the cab area and are significantly lighter and more practical than fixed bulkhead panels for vehicles where frequent rear access is needed.
Frequently asked questions
Can you match our vehicle's existing lashing attachment points?
Yes — if you can provide your vehicle's lashing ring spacing and type, we will fabricate the net with the corresponding attachment points as standard.
Do you supply nets for both the front and back of racking?
Yes. We supply nets for both the pick face and the back face of racking runs, as well as end-of-aisle panels and mezzanine floor edges. If you're fitting out a full warehouse or distribution centre, contact us for a volume quote.
Do cargo nets meet DVSA load securing requirements?
Cargo nets are a containment measure — they are used to prevent loose items from moving beyond the load boundary and should be used alongside appropriate primary lashing equipment rated to EN 12195. They do not replace direct lashing of the load to the vehicle but are a recognised part of a compliant load management system, particularly for loose, mixed, or irregular goods.
Where are your products manufactured?
Our products are manufactured directly at the heart of our business in our Fleetwood, Lancashire factory.
What is your lead time for bespoke cargo nets?
Standard bespoke orders are typically turned around within a couple of week from confirmed measurements. For fleet orders or larger volumes, contact us to discuss scheduling. Please note that bespoke orders are difficult to calculate lead times for due to their nature. Contact us directly and we can confirm once we have the jobs full scope.
