Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between FASET and FAA accredited courses?
The primary difference lies in the industry specialism. FASET (Fall Arrest Safety Equipment Training) is the specific, universally recognised governing body for temporary safety systems, net rigging, and height safety within construction. FAA (First Aid Awards) is a national awarding body regulated by Ofsted/Ofqual that covers cross-industry workplace compliance, such as first aid, mental health support, and fire safety. Boris Nets is fully accredited to deliver both pipelines.
Where does the training take place?
We offer total flexibility depending on your team's operational constraints. We host regular courses at our dedicated Fleetwood Training Centre in Lancashire, which features custom-built environments for practical net rigging, safety testing, and classroom learning. Alternatively, our certified instructors can travel nationwide to deliver training directly on your construction site or corporate premises (subject to service areas and equipment availability & course delegates).
How do I book a course and check current pricing?
Because our course capacities are limited to ensure safe, low student-to-tutor ratios (ranging from 4 to 16 delegates depending on the module), availability changes daily. To get an accurate, fast quote or secure available dates for your team, please contact us directly via email at sales@borisnes.co.uk, give our Fleetwood hub a call on 01253 874891, or fill out the contact form below.
Can you create custom training courses for our company?
Yes. Alongside our standard FASET, FAA, and CITB-aligned certifications, Boris Nets specialises in writing bespoke training modules. If your team works with specialised or custom netting systems, unusual structural anchors, or unique operational constraints, we can tailor a training framework to match your exact safety logs, learning styles, and risk assessments.
Do your certifications expire?
Expiry depends on the specific course qualification framework. Generally, FASET certificates and CSCS cards require re-assessment or renewal every 2 to 3 years (such as the GSA1 Refresher) or 5 years for specialised net repairs. FAA First Aid and Mental Health qualifications are typically valid for 3 years. General Health & Safety or Manual Handling awards technically have no formal expiry date, though regular CPD refreshers are highly recommended to stay current with changing legislation.
